Studio Policies

  • Registration

Registration for the 2019 - 2020 school year is open!  Dance classes are available for students ages 2 - adult. Registration can be be done online at: https://www.codyperformingarts.com/register

  • Why CCPA?

All students of any ability are welcome at CCPA.  CCPA staff strives to foster self-confidence, discipline and a love of the arts by creating a positive, nurturing and structured environment where students can grow and develop into talented and creative young adults.

 

The Cody Center for the Performing Arts has been a part of the Big Horn Basin for 36 years. In that time CCPA has taken many students to represent the state of Wyoming at Dance Excellence, an international festival of dance held in Los Angeles, California. Students have also performed in New York City at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, attended many conventions in the area, and have successfully competed and performed at several national and regional events and competitions. Many former CCPA students have gone on to careers in dance as studio directors, dance teachers, and performers.  

  • Classes Offered

CCPA offers classes in Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Pointe, Modern, Hip-Hop, Musical Theatre, Creative Movement, Acting, Acro-Dance, Adult Hip Hop and Adult Tap.  Classes are offered for students ages 2 to adult.

Get all of your dancewear needs before classes start! Items will be shipped directly to the studio and you will be able to create an account and know what size to order for next year! When ordering the stretch ballet order 3 sizes larger then your street shoe size, all other order 2 sizes larger than your street shoe. (Make sure to put your name on everything!)

Shoes will soon be available at Footworks in Cody!

   

       Creative Movement:  Pink ballet shoes (find on our online store) 

       Intro to Dance I & II: Pink stretch ballet shoes and U shell tap for girls, slip on tap or tie up tap for boys

       Ballet & Pointe:  Black leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes. (Black ballet skirts or shorts are optional.)

       Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop & Modern:  Tight fitting top or leotard, tights and/or dance pants/leggings.

       Jazz:  Tan jazz shoes   (Black may be used for classes.  Tan is a must for performance)

       Hip Hop:  Black tennis shoes or Hip hop dance sneakers

      Tap:  Black tap shoes

      Acro:  Leotard and shorts or biketard. No shoes required.

      Modern/Contemporary: Modern toe shoes required

      Boys:  Shorts or sweatpants, t-shirts, black shoes

ABSOLUTELY NO STREET CLOTHES OR SHOES MAY BE WORN IN CLASS!  ALL HAIR MUST BE SECURED AWAY FROM FACE AND NECK

  • Bus Information

Bussing to CCPA is available.  Please contact the Bus Barn at 587-2851 to make arrangements.

  • Parking

Please be considerate of our neighbors and only park in front of the building or on the street. The vacant lot next to the building is not a parking lot. Please obey all no-parking signs.

  • Observing Class

We offer viewing windows for classes and invite you to watch anytime as long as it is not a distraction to your student.

  • Make-Up Classes

If your student will be missing classes, please ask about coming to a make-up class so that they do not fall behind. We also offer drop-in classes for students that want to add a class to their schedule occasionally. Tuition will not be adjusted for missed classes unless due to a prolonged  illness or injury.

  • Attendance

Student’s progress in class is greatly hindered by irregular attendance. It is VERY IMPORTANT that students are in class and on time.  The beginning of every class is devoted to warming up and for your child’s safety should not be missed.

  • Recital

The highlight of our season is our annual recital. The recital is more than an opportunity to display what students have learned. It is an excellent learning experience. It is an opportunity to develop self-confidence and poise and it’s a lot of fun!  In addition to recital, we perform an annual community holiday show which benefits Cody Holiday Helpers.  Some groups may also  perform their dances throughout the community during the year.

  • Tuition

Tuition is split into nine equal payments for the entire season (Sept - May).  Students will average 3 - 5 classes/month. Tuition is due the first week of each month.

 

CCPA accepts cash, check, money order and all major credit cards.

Cash or Check payments made by the 5th of the month will receive a 5% reward on their account. (Unlimited rate excluded)

Please make checks payable to CCPA and write the student’s full name and what you are paying for on the memo line (tuition, costume, etc.) 

Past due accounts will be charged a 5% late fee after the 15th of the month.

A one-time $20 registration fee will be charged to each family annually upon registration. Your registration includes a CCPA shirt.

Family and multi-class discounts are available (excluding unlimited rate)

5-6 classes - 3%

7-8 clases -5%

9-10- 7%

NOTE: Some classes have been designated as "punch-card" classes.  Students still register, but attendance is treated as a drop in student.

Scholarships are available for qualifying students.  See the front desk for an application.

Recital Performance and Costume Fee

$35/year/class (This fee will be capped at $200 and is a non-refundable fee due February 1, 2020)

Fee includes costume rental, auditorium fees and additional rehearsals and performances

Christmas Show* will be an additional $35/student/class ($200 cap due November 1)

*Dances selected for holiday show still to be determined. Not all classes perform.

  • Drop Policy

Should you decide to drop a class or change a class, a drop/change slip must be filled out and handed into the front desk prior to the 1st of the month.  Tuition is billed the 1st of each month and will not be refunded.
